The Radically Reimagining Initiative is manifesting a new and better future for the human relationship with nature and one another. Through publications, performance art events, and legal innovation, the Initiative inspires a bipartisan, diverse collection of doers and thinkers to co-create new, positive visions. Many environmental topics, ranging from climate change to food systems, wildfires to wildlife, are stuck in a murky backlog of polarized positions and competing world views. Through legal futurism infused by art and science, the Radically Reimagining Initiative empowers communities to un-stick polarized topics to lead to new and better possibilities.

This project has emerged from the Radically Reimagining Initiative, which is housed in the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. The Initiative began with a series of Earth Day performance arts events that convened a salon of sustainability thought leaders living in relationship with the natural world to collectively co-create and imagine new ways of living sustainability. Attendees included foresters, community leaders, artists, writers, farmers, landscapers, farmers, musicians, attorneys, entrepreneurs, stay-at-home parents, medical professionals, teachers, and ornithologists. The event acknowledged that every person, regardless of age or political affiliation, has an active relationship with the natural world for their entire life. Expressing, exploring, and combining those visions to create a collected project is the goal of the Radically Reimagining Initiative. This project captures that spirit and idea in printed form designed to fascinate, excite, and inspire a general audience.
